It all started in the spring of 1974 when our owners, and husband-and-wife duo, Fred and Chris Barrera had a turntable and an idea. They launched one of the first mobile DJ services in the St. Louis area, and the response was immediate. By fall of that same year, they had a roster of DJs and a decision to make: stay small, or build something. They decided to take the leap, and Aries Audio Enterprises was born.

Through the late ’70s and early ’80s, Aries grew by doing lighting and sound for concerts, one client at a time, one reputation-defining moment at a time. By the mid-’80s, that reputation had a big reach. Six Flags. The Arena. The old Kiel Auditorium. If there was a stage in St. Louis, Aries probably worked a concert there.

In 1993, the name evolved to The Aries Co., and our scope evolved with it. Events need more than great sound and light; they need staging, draping, seating, linens, tables, and a hundred other details that have to be right. We added them all, and we’ve never stopped adding. Today, our inventory covers everything you need to bring an event to life, and we work to constantly grow it.

Through all the years and the evolution of Aries Co, what hasn’t changed is how we operate. After five decades, the same principle and mantra that launched our company still drives it: “One client at a time.” Every client is our best client. That’s not a marketing tagline; that’s how we’ve stayed in business since 1974, and we look forward to continuing to serve St. Louis for many years to come!
